Bathrooms of the Future

Bathrooms of the Future

Did you know that across the globe we spend an average of 70 minutes a day in the bathroom?!

To see the latest Bathroom trends from around the world I have travelled abroad to the worlds biggest bathroom trade fair; I have to say the future of bathrooms is exciting.

Large scale displays show off new trends and design developments, as well as modern technology designed to meet today’s needs; the complete spectrum of high tech and high end design.

All market and technology leaders from around the world launch their new, fully developed technologies and solutions onto the world market at ISH in Frankfurt.

Designing is much more about providing long term comfort through the generations to come. And this makes sense Germans like to build things to last!

A study by the German Sanitary Association presented their research findings from ‘bathrooms of the future’ which is being conducted in collaboration with design students who have been working on new product ideas for existing bathrooms in line with the philosophy of ‘design for all’ which will help people to live long independent lives in their own homes.

Companies like Grohe impress me with their master ideas; the standout was hard to choose between the steam shower with bluetooth light control, steam and audio or foaming cappuccino like bath! I also enjoyed the impact and drama of the flying taps with large rain showers. Most of all I was impressed with the sheer size of their display, the buzz in the meeting lounge and excitement to show you through.

There is a focus on the efficient use of water. Additionally, emphasis is given to the growing expectation on demand, ease of operation and solutions taking account  demographic changes experienced by building planners.

The statement designer tapware throughout were exquisite, timeless & quirky. In particular the Pinocchio themed tapware was a lively unique addition.

Overall, for my first time traveling to this show I received a great amount of inspiration to take back to my team!
