Part 5 of the LHDS ensures easy and independent access for all home occupants to at least one shower in a dwelling. Regardless of the total number of showers, only one needs to comply with Part 5. The compliant shower does not need to be on the ground or entry level.

Key Requirements for Showers
Part 5.2 requires:
•
At least one shower must have a hob-less and step-free entry. This means the floor level at the entry to the shower recess must be level with the floor outside the recess.
•
A 5 mm high lip (such as a water-stop angle)
