Mirror
High quality glass is backed with silver and a protective coat of baked enamel paint. This is usally cut to custom sizes and finished with a polished edge. Another type of mirror is vinyl backed for use in framed mirrors and wardrobe doors making them safe in your home - broken glass will stick to the backing, holding the glass together.
Toughened Safety Glass
PIPERS high quality Clear or Starphire (low iron) glass for coloured splashbacks or frameless shower screens is a bespoke custom made product. Once cut and polished through our computerised machinery, the glass is then heated then rapidly cooled, resulting in the glass retaining high compressive stresses. Fully toughened glass is four to five times stronger than ordinary glass and if broken forms small safety granules.
Laminated Safety Glass
Mainly used for our shower screen custom panels, laminate glass comprises two or more layers of glass permanently bonded together with an interlayer or resin. If broken, the interlayer is designed to hold the glass together.
